The Unconscious Correction Process Restores Love

Love is Peace and Welcoming

Unconscious Habits

Our loving energy stems and flows from our unconscious mind, a space within us that functions automatically. A space where automatic thought and functions are governed swiftly and effectively without our conscious awareness, so swiftly that it all happens faster than we can think. A bit like a super computer.

What if we could open this unconscious mind and make it conscious?

What would it be like to have full access to this super computer and oversee the programming? Well the good news is you can!

It is as easy as making the choice to hold your breath! Breathing is an unconscious automatic habit, it functions even when we are asleep, yet we can consciously take a deep breath, choose to hold it till that bad smell passes, and then let breathing resume at will.

How is it that we can take conscious control over this automatic, unconscious, behaviour?

The reason is that we have been practicing it all our lives, from the baby bath to the swimming pool and beach. Every time there is a bad smell, or when we need to really listen, we choose to hold our breath.

That’s why yogis use focussing on the breath as a significant part of the meditation process, as an option for building awareness, clarity and consciousness, as it is an avenue to the unconscious mind.

Just as we can focus intently on our breathing, we can focus intently on our vision, observing what we can see, tune into our hearing, be highly aware of what we can feel in our fingertips, what we can taste and smell….

These senses are functions of the unconscious mind, and we can choose to make them conscious, simply by focusing on them.

What if love is an unconscious, automatic function? Imagine if love is a flow of energy that we can enhance and turn up with focus, turning comfort to joy, turning love to amazement, turning peace to happiness… the truth is that this is so!

Focus your attention on something right now, anything will do, and see it through the eyes of love… notice what happens in your body as you do this…Similarly, we can dull this energetic flow down, or even tune it out totally… worry, doubt, fear, grief and discomfort is the result, and none of us really wants that, right?

Unconscious Correction

Our problem is that we allow this tuning in to love and dulling down from love to go on unconsciously, and so we are at the whim of what is happening around us, like a ship at sea being buffeted by the waves or becalmed in stillness, soaking up the chill of night and basking in the sunshine…

What if we could have conscious control over the flow if this loving energy… would you choose to restrict the flow? Would you consciously choose to dam it up and store it for later? Would you choose to experience fear, worry, doubt, grief, loss, darkness and discomfort? Of course not!

Who, in a sane mind, would want for that?

The truth is, we can have the ability to consciously choose to de-regulate the flow of loving energy coursing through us and emanating from us. We have this power just as assuredly as we can hold our breath.

As a child, I suffered from Asthma, and as a result I learned how to focus my breathing, how to consciously slow it down, how to breathe more down into my abdomen rather than expanding my chest.

With continued focus and persistent practice, these methods of breathing became more automatic, until now as an adult, I just do it without having to focus.

I have found the same system to work in relation to allowing the flow of love to course through my body and emanate from me. Every time I experience any discomfort at all, I turn my focus to love. Anything that I can focus on with love will do… It only takes a momentary shift in my focus to turn the flow of loving energy on. Relaxation and calmness are the instant result, more peace…

Conscious Expansion

I found, that with practice and persistence, this focus became a habit, and the habit became unconscious and automatic. Now, ten times faster than I can think, my discomfort or worry is captured and refocused so fast by my super computer, that I barely notice any discomfort at all.

Discomfort and worry become a blessing, a chance and an opportunity to practice manifesting and channelling my focus to love. The more I practice this easy refocusing the easier and faster it becomes, and a strange thing happened…

I became aware that the opportunities to practice became less and less… that the world became a beautiful place and filled with love everywhere!

But had the situations for discomfort reduced, or had the way I see the world and everything in it changed?

I recall a time when I was having a riding lesson on my beautiful 17 ½ hand Warmblood horse (Warrego Swagman was his name). My coach had me working the horse on a twenty-meter circle at the canter and was guiding my actions gently as I rode.

She guided me to take my inside hand more forward, and the horse relaxed instantly into the space I had allowed by releasing tension on the reins. She guided me to take my inside hip more forward, and as such I had to take my legs off the horse to do so. Again, the horse relaxed even more and I felt the muscles in his back rise underneath me as he stretched down further in front.

Feeling more content, more relaxed and at peace, I gave over to the soothing, guiding voice of my coach. I then experienced something that changed my life. The goose-bumps even now begin to wave through my body as I recall the feeling of the horse’s spine coming up through mine, through my abdomen, where I could feel every nerve in the horse, every breath, every muscle, and I had to but think where I wanted to go and the horse responded.

Then the horse disappeared and became a blinding white light on which I was perched, the field disappeared, merging with the light, my coach disappeared, I was no longer aware of her voice, I disappeared merging with it all, and becoming aware of a feeling of absolute peace and bliss, the likes of which I had never experienced before.

The next thing I knew, as my awareness of horse and surroundings began to return, was my coach dancing a jig in the paddock and exclaiming yes! Yes! Yes! Finally, at one with the horse! I don’t think she truly had an awareness of what I had just experienced… one with the universe!

A small moment of focus on this gift that I experienced restores my peace and reignites my flow of loving energy. Have you ever experienced a similar level of connection, freedom and light? I would love to hear your story… please email me!

Conscious Persistance

Any habit begins with a conscious choice and is then locked in through persistent practice. Here is a focused meditation that I have found to be efficient and effective. I call it the Seven Senses Meditation.

I like it because it is quick, only takes one minute, and I can do it anywhere, any time. I practice it when I first wake up in the morning, and the last thing as I lay down to sleep. I practice it every time I take a sip from my coffee, and when I take food.

I set myself little routines that allow for this practice every day.Remember that unconscious habits are generated first through a little willingness, and then through planning, method, and execution. Next comes persistence, any habit you cease to use becomes slower and less efficient. Try putting down your musical instrument for a month and then picking it up again… rusty?
